Assam Government to Present First Bhupen Hazarika Award to Usha Mangeshkar

The Assam government will present the inaugural Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika National Award to singer Usha Mangeshkar on November 29.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will present the award, which comprises ₹10 lakh in cash and a citation, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The Assam cabinet instituted the award to honour contributions to music and culture and to perpetuate the legacy of the late artist.
