Terror Handlers in J&K Using Porn Sites for Encrypted Communication

Security officials reported that terror handlers in Jammu and Kashmir are using pornography websites with live-chat features and niche encrypted apps to coordinate activities while evading surveillance.

Agencies are monitoring platforms like Moonchat, Coatex, and Conion, which allow users to register without phone numbers or SIM cards, complicating efforts to identify clandestine networks.

This shift follows the 2020 investigation into the February 2019 Pulwama attack, which revealed that over 40 virtual SIM cards were used to facilitate the suicide bombing that killed 40 personnel.
