President Donald Trump announced an import ban on Canadian alcoholic beverages and dairy products effective September 29, alongside a 50% surcharge on other goods starting September 15.
The executive orders target items including mattresses, motorboats, and golf carts, following the collapse of bilateral trade negotiations last month.
Trump also directed officials to remove Canadian-origin products from the General Services Administration's multiple award schedules, which account for over $50 billion in annual contracts.
