PM Modi Inaugurates ₹35,000 Crore Freight Corridor Projects in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹35,000 crore in Vadodara, Gujarat, on September 8, 2026.

The event marked the completion of the 2,800-km Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, which connects Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Navi Mumbai to Dadri in Uttar Pradesh.

Modi criticized the previous Congress-led regime for slow development, noting that India has built 50,000 modern rail coaches since 2014 to improve freight and passenger movement.
