Sudan drone strikes kill 21 and trigger massive power outages in the east

A drone strike on a market in Nyala, the de facto capital of Sudan's paramilitary RSF in Darfur, killed 21 people and wounded at least 40 others on Monday.

RSF militia drones targeted the Al-Markhiyat transformer station on Tuesday, disrupting power supplies across large parts of Khartoum and Al-Jazira states following coordinated attacks on six power stations.

The UN reports that ongoing drone strikes killed over 300 people in the first three weeks of October alone amid the brutal war that began in April 2023.
