Delhi police arrested 25-year-old Mohammad Sahil and his 21-year-old wife Sameera for allegedly procuring and sending eight Indian SIM cards to Pakistan via Dubai.
Investigators stated the SIM cards were used between 2024 and 2025 to activate WhatsApp accounts for gathering sensitive information on Indian defence assets.
The case follows other recent espionage incidents, including the 2023 arrest of DRDO scientist Pradeep Kurulkar and the 2024 arrest of embassy staffer Satendra Siwal for honeytrapping.
