Arunachal Capital Paralyzed by 12-Hour Shutdown Over School Infrastructure

A 12-hour shutdown called by the All Nyishi Students' Union on Thursday affected normal life in Itanagar over education-related demands, including the renovation of 56 identified schools.

The Itanagar Capital Region authorities had declared the shutdown illegal under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, citing public safety and law-and-order concerns.

Stray incidents of violence and vehicle damage were reported in the capital region, although emergency services were exempted from the protest.
