IIT Bombay Implements 8-Year Limit for PhD Completion

IIT Bombay has introduced a new policy mandating that all PhD students must complete their doctoral research within a maximum period of eight years.

The decision aims to improve academic efficiency and ensure that research projects remain relevant and aligned with current technological advancements.

Students currently enrolled who exceed this timeframe will be required to seek special extensions from the academic senate, subject to rigorous review.
