NCERT introduces 20-hour AI and computational thinking module for classes 9-12

The National Council of Educational Research and Training released a 20-hour introductory module on computational thinking and artificial intelligence for students in classes 9 to 12.

Developed in consultation with IIT Madras and IIT Jodhpur, the activity-based curriculum aims to teach students machine learning basics, deepfake detection, and data privacy without requiring prior technical knowledge.

The module emphasizes ethical technology use and verifies that human judgement and critical thinking remain central to student learning.
