Iran offers US deal to reopen Strait of Hormuz in seven days

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country has proposed a deal to the US via Qatar to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days if necessary conditions are met.

Araghchi told reporters at the UN in New York that the required actions by the United States are already contained within the memorandum of understanding signed in June.

A US official told the BBC that the US is in a strong position controlling the strait and is not in a rush, while positive discussions continue through mediators.
