Supreme Court to Hear Plea Against Chief Election Commissioner Next Week

The Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear a petition raising doubts over Election Commission decisions under Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Senior advocate Vikas Singh told a bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant that multi-member commission decisions must be unanimous or by majority, expressing doubt over compliance.

The petition follows controversy over other commissioners objecting 14 times in 10 months, though the ECI maintained all its decisions were unanimous.
