Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered a high-level investigation into the deaths of 25 Baiga tribal children in the Balaghat district.
The probe follows allegations from families and activists that malnutrition, rather than tribal customs, is the primary cause of the recurring fatalities in the region.
The state government has directed local health officials to submit a comprehensive report on the nutritional status of children in these tribal pockets by September 5.
