Iran Rejects US Pressure Over Strait of Hormuz Blockade

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi declared on Saturday that the Strait of Hormuz will remain under Iranian control, dismissing U.S. threats to reopen the strategic waterway.

Before the U.S.-Israel war began on February 28, one in five barrels of global oil exports passed through the strait, which Iran is currently enforcing as a blockade.

President Donald Trump urged Americans to accept gasoline prices, which reached an average of $4.08 per gallon yesterday—a 29% increase from $3.16 a year ago—to fund the ongoing conflict.
