Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ordered the removal of the City Superintendent of Police and suspended eight other personnel following a truck accident near Gwalior's Sheetla Mata Temple that killed 15 people.
Preliminary investigations indicated mechanical failure caused the driver to lose control of the paddy-laden truck at 1:30 am on Saturday, crashing into devotees and the temple gate and injuring 27 people.
The Prime Minister's Office announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees from the PMNRF for families of the deceased and fifty thousand rupees for the injured.
