India's 15-year-old Tanvi Patri secured the silver medal in the women's singles badminton event at the Youth Olympics in Senegal after a loss to China's Zhang Yi Xin.
Zhang defeated Patri 15-21, 21-13, 26-24 in an hour and 22 minutes of play where nine championship points were saved across a tense deciding game.
Patri made history by becoming the first Indian player to reach the women's singles final at the Youth Olympics badminton tournament.
