Parliament Adjourned Amid Opposition Protests Over Home Minister's Absence

Opposition MPs led by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of the Home Minister's absence during the monsoon session, which commenced on July 20, 2026.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju rejected the Opposition's demand, stating there was no formal direction from the Chair for the Home Minister's presence, before the Lok Sabha was adjourned until August 10.
