Shubham Kumar from Gaya, Bihar, secured All India Rank 1 in the 2026 JEE Advanced examination by scoring 330 out of 360 marks.

Out of 1,79,694 candidates who appeared for both papers, 56,880 successfully qualified for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology.

Kumar finished just one mark ahead of his Kota hostel-mate Kabeer Chhillar, who secured AIR 2 with 329 marks and expressed intentions to join IIT Bombay.
