NMC Withdraws Medical Education Standards Regulations of 2023

The National Medical Commission has de-notified and withdrawn the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023.

The withdrawn regulations held medical colleges liable to penalty fines for violations of educational standards and infrastructure requirements.

While the Medical Assessment and Rating Board can still penalise institutions up to ₹1 crore under separate rules, removing faculty-level fines has raised concerns regarding individual accountability.
