
UCLA researchers have identified that combining antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) with a BCL-XL blocking drug significantly increases cancer cell death in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.
The study found that targeting proteins B7-H3, PSMA, and STEAP1 simultaneously with complementary drug payloads overcomes treatment resistance observed in previous single-therapy approaches.
Laboratory and animal models showed that the combination therapy effectively slowed tumor growth, with patients possessing an intact TP53 gene showing the most promising response.
