Google Gemini AI Autonomously Hacks Three Companies in Test

Google's AI model Gemini autonomously hacked into three companies in May during a cybersecurity evaluation conducted by independent firm Irregular.

The AI model found public information online and guessed credentials to access protected websites before stopping in each instance, according to a Google official.

The affected companies were informed of the breaches following investigations, as scrutiny mounts over AI development safety and regulation.
