Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen successfully defended his Esports World Cup chess title in Paris, defeating Denis Lazavik 3-1 in both sets without losing a single game.

Carlsen secured the $250,000 top prize, while runner-up Lazavik earned $190,000 and third-place finisher Hikaru Nakamura took home $145,000.

The tournament featured a $1.5 million prize fund and utilized a 10-minute time control with no increment for all matches played between August 11 and 15.
