Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim met on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi to review cooperation in trade, defence, and infrastructure.
The leaders discussed expanding ties into sectors such as semiconductors, critical minerals, clean energy, and talent mobility, with bilateral trade currently valued at nearly $19 billion.
Anwar confirmed Malaysia's agreement to establish an Indian consulate in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, while raising the need to accelerate export market access for Malaysian goods.
