Brazil's Congress approved a constitutional amendment to reduce the maximum working week from 44 to 40 hours for over 30 million workers.
The legislative change will abolish six-day work schedules currently affecting around 16 million people, primarily impacting retail, restaurant, and hotel workers.
The reform will take effect gradually following a 60-day period after formal Senate approval, lowering hours initially to 42 before dropping to 40.
