North Sydney Council has resumed negotiations to sell Monford Place, a public cul-de-sac, to the private school SCEGGS Redlands after previously rejecting the proposal in 2022.
The school, which has acquired all properties bordering the street over four decades, seeks to absorb the road into its campus to facilitate senior school expansion.
Council documents indicate the sale process, including statutory closures and legal work, is expected to take 18 to 24 months, driven partly by the council's $157 million infrastructure backlog.
