Typhoon Noul Makes Landfall in China, Killing 10

Typhoon Noul, the strongest storm to hit China this year, made landfall in Huizhou, Guangdong, at 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

The storm brought winds of up to 162 kilometres per hour, causing rain-triggered floods that resulted in 10 deaths and widespread transport cancellations across the region.

The National Development and Reform Commission has allocated 100 million yuan, approximately USD 14.7 million, to support infrastructure recovery and disaster relief efforts in Guangdong.
