Delhi Police detained at least 2,000 people and four former chief ministers on Saturday during a protest called by the Cockroach Janta Party at Jantar Mantar to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Those held included AAP's Arvind Kejriwal, TMC's Mamata Banerjee, and Left leaders Pinarayi Vijayan and Manik Sarkar, along with activists and opposition politicians.

The government deployed 25,000 personnel, partly closed 45 metro stations, cancelled over 250 trains, and suspended internet services around the protest site.
