Israel added a tender for 2,167 housing units to its E1 settlement expansion plan in the occupied West Bank, bringing the total to 3,401 units.
The project is scheduled for bidding on October 25 and faces strong opposition from rights groups and Palestinian leadership who say it divides the West Bank from East Jerusalem.
The E1 project threatens the viability of a future Palestinian state, with Western nations including Britain, France, and Canada recently imposing settlement export bans.
