Pakistan and the Maldives signed 20 memorandums of understanding on Wednesday to enhance cooperation in areas including defence, maritime security, and artificial intelligence during Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu's visit to Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that both countries agreed to increase bilateral trade from USD 13.9 million to USD 200 million over the next two years.
President Muizzu received an honorary doctorate in politics from the International Islamic University Islamabad after being welcomed with a guard of honour at the Prime Minister's House.
