The Atlanta Falcons announced that Michael Penix Jr. will make his first start of the season at quarterback in Thursday night's game against the Green Bay Packers.
The quarterback change follows a 34-3 home loss to the Carolina Panthers where Cooper Rush and Jack Strand combined for poor offensive production and multiple turnovers.
Penix previously started nine games in 2025, completing 60.1% of his passes for 1,982 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions before a knee injury.
