Kaylub Giamanco spoke publicly about following 16-year-old gunman Griffin J John II into Silver Rail Elementary School on October 15 and fatally shooting him.
Police stated the teenager had killed three children and a teacher, and wounded others, before Giamanco intervened with a legally stored handgun.
Giamanco expressed lingering grief over the victims and received praise from President Trump and Oregon Governor Tina Kotek for preventing further deaths.
