
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan' on August 2, 2026, to promote a drug-free lifestyle among youth for a developed India.
The initiative involves over 125 organizations and 28,000 locations nationwide, with participation from more than one crore youth who pledged to combat substance abuse over the next 100 weeks.
Modi announced that weekly activities focused on sports, meditation, and culture will continue for 100 weeks, while government efforts against drug traffickers have already resulted in significant seizures and increased arrests.
