Robinhood Markets plans to let retail customers trade select US stocks and ETFs over the weekend from Sunday at 8 p.m. to Friday at 8 p.m. New York time.
Traditional US equity market sessions will continue to run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET to establish reference prices and settlement schedules.
Experts warn that weekend trading sessions will likely feature wider spreads, lower liquidity, and prices that may not hold when Monday markets open.
