IMD Issues Orange and Yellow Alerts for Delhi-NCR Rainfall

The India Meteorological Department issued orange and yellow alerts for Delhi-NCR on September 1, 2026, following a fresh spell of heavy rainfall across the region.

Moderate rain is expected in areas including southeast, east, and central Delhi, while light showers are forecast for other parts of the capital and neighboring districts.

The IMD also warned of thunderstorms and lightning in parts of western Uttar Pradesh, specifically Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar, over the two hours following the 7:21 PM update.
