U.S. Waives Tariffs on Speciality Drugs from India and 19 Other Countries

The U.S. exempted specialty drugs and ingredients for rare diseases and infertility treatments from India and 19 other countries from ad valorem tariffs.

Eligible zero-tariff products include cell and gene therapies, antibody-drug conjugates, and animal pharmaceuticals from nations with trade and security framework agreements.

The exemption accompanies a 100% tariff imposed by the U.S. Commerce Department on certain patented pharmaceutical imports taking effect from September 29.
