Eight Killed in Road Accident on NH 66 in Thrissur

Eight people died after their car rammed into a parked lorry on National Highway 66 at Panampikkunnu in Thrissur district shortly after midnight on September 4, 2026.

Seven victims died at the scene while one succumbed to injuries in the hospital, with identity documents suggesting the deceased were students from PSNA Engineering College in Dindigul.

Local residents, police, and Fire and Rescue Services personnel conducted a rescue operation, using equipment to cut open the mangled vehicle to retrieve the occupants.
