US Expels Two Members of Iranian Delegation for Overstaying Visa Limits

The United States State Department expelled two members of the Iranian delegation who attended the United Nations General Assembly after they ignored orders to leave the country.

A US official stated that Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered the expulsion after learning from the Iranian UN mission that the individuals remained in New York on Friday.

One delegate departed Friday night and the second left Saturday morning, while direct talks between Washington and Tehran remain unscheduled.
