Eighteen-year-old fast bowler Deepesh Devendran has gained attention in the Tamil Nadu Premier League by consistently clocking speeds over 140 km/h, including a top delivery of 146 km/h.
The pacer, who represented India in the under-19 World Cup earlier this year, attributes his increased velocity to higher bowling volumes and strength training rather than specific speed-focused drills.
Devendran is currently seeking guidance from senior Tamil Nadu pacer Sandeep Warrier and Madurai bowling coach AC Prathiban as he prepares for his potential future in the Ranji Trophy.
