US board-certified cardiovascular surgeon Dr Jeremy London outlined his personal sauna protocol, recommending traditional Finnish saunas at 175–194°F for 10-20 minutes.
Dr London noted that frequent sessions of 4 to 7 times per week help dilate blood vessels, increase heart rate, and release heat shock proteins.
Regular sauna use is associated in data with reduced risks of heart attack, stroke, sudden cardiac death, and neurodegenerative conditions.
