I4C Warns Users of Malicious Android Apps Promoted via Social Media Ads

The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre issued an advisory warning users about malicious Android apps promoted through Instagram and Facebook advertisements.

Disguised as entertainment or adult content, these apps prompt users to download external APK files from phishing websites hosted on dot-live domains.

Once installed and granted accessibility permissions, the malware can take control of devices, install unauthorized packages, and facilitate financial fraud.
