Chennai-based YouTuber Jason Samuel Vijayakumar, 30, was arrested by police on Thursday for allegedly extorting and threatening a 27-year-old social media influencer.
The victim, who had over 1.4 million followers, was found dead at his rented Chennai residence on October 20 in a suspected suicide.
Police stated the victim was under severe mental stress due to defamatory videos and financial advice content pressure, leading to a case registered under Section 108 of the BNS.
