A new bridge linking China's Dandong and North Korea's Sinuiju opened on Thursday after more than a decade of delays, marking closer economic and diplomatic ties.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang stated in a video address that the four-lane, 3-kilometre crossing would symbolize traditional friendship and enhance border area connectivity.
The newly opened crossing is expected to reduce pressure on the aging Dandong-Sinuiju route, which handles over 70 percent of official trade between the two nations.
