Rajinikanth explains why he rejected Baasha 2 and Petta 2

Superstar Rajinikanth revealed he turned down sequel proposals for Baasha 2 and Petta 2 as he generally dislikes film sequels.

He agreed to do Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer 2 after rewatching the original film on OTT and finding a suitable story line.

Jailer 2 is produced on an estimated budget of Rs 250-350 crore and is scheduled to release in theatres on October 15.
