Jharkhand activist Devendra Nath Mahto was allegedly assaulted and forcibly taken to a hospital by police on August 15 while attempting to join a Tiranga Yatra in Ranchi.
Mahto, a student leader, claims he was barred from participating in the Independence Day event, with medical reports citing a high risk of seizures following the alleged police action.
The incident has triggered demands from student groups for the Congress party to withdraw support from the JMM-led coalition government and for Chief Minister Hemant Soren's resignation.
