
A major tunnel collapse occurred in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, on August 13, 2026, after water and debris flooded an under-construction site, trapping several workers.
Rescue operations are currently underway, with 16 workers successfully evacuated so far, while authorities continue to search for those still missing inside the structure.
