Islam Makhachev Defends UFC Title and Sets Winning Record

Islam Makhachev successfully defended his UFC welterweight championship at UFC 330 in Philadelphia on August 15, 2026, defeating Ian Machado Garry via a unanimous decision of 49-46, 49-46, 48-47.

The victory extended Makhachev's winning streak to 17 consecutive fights, officially surpassing the previous UFC record of 16 wins held by Hall of Famer Anderson Silva since 2013.

In the co-main event, women's strawweight champion Mackenzie Dern also retained her title by defeating Gillian Robertson via unanimous decision, marking her first successful defense of the championship belt.
