HDFC Bank MD and CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan will retire on October 26, 2026, after informing the Board of Directors of his decision not to seek reappointment for the top post.
Jagdishan, who joined the bank in 1996 and became CEO after Aditya Puri's retirement, faced recent criticism over stock performance and internal reviews regarding deposit arrangements with the MSRDC.
The bank's board has initiated a fast-track selection process for a successor, as the institution navigates the aftermath of the 2023 merger with HDFC Ltd and regulatory discomfort.
