Swede Andreas Almgren won the New York City Marathon men's division in his debut, clocking 2:06:01.
Almgren, a former data scientist, switched to marathons this year after a stress fracture sidelined him for the 2024 Olympics.
He pulled away from the defending champion with one mile left, securing a comfortable lead and a spot on the Swedish Olympic team.
