India's alternative accommodation sector is projected to reach a Gross Booking Value of ₹415 billion by fiscal year 2029, according to industry reports.
Digitally distributed homestay and holiday rental listings expanded significantly from 102,200 in FY23 to 215,000 in FY26.
Business travellers accounted for 19% of alternative accommodation bookings in FY26, with that figure projected to rise to 21% by FY27.
