SBI Research Shows Rising Placements and Female Enrollment in IITs and IIMs

Data from SBI Research shows that roughly 93% of students across IITs, IIMs, and NITs secure placements, with IIM figures nearing 100% when including higher studies.

Institution counts expanded from 59 in FY14 to 76 in FY26, with combined student strength growing significantly and median salaries climbing across all three categories.

Women's representation increased notably, reaching 37.7% in IIM programs by 2023-24, with two out of three students being women in IIM Kozhikode's 2026 intake.
