The Lokpal anti-corruption watchdog dismissed a corruption complaint against rebel Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Arup Chakraborty after a CBI probe found the charges unsubstantiated.

The Central Bureau of Investigation submitted its preliminary enquiry report on August 28 after examining a total of six allegations against the lawmaker representing the Bankura seat.

A Lokpal bench headed by Chairman Justice A. M. Khanwilkar noted that the alleged activities occurred on or before 2024 when Chakraborty was a Legislative Council member, falling outside Section 14 of the Act of 2013.
